I barely spoke any English when I started the program. But by the time I left TIEP I was well prepared to shepherd higher (Economics and MBA) and pursue my successful professional career. I'm sometimes surprised my written English is largest than some of my American friends. The teachers and the staff are very professional and caring. They truly go the uneaten mile to make sure you learn and understand. Located walking loftiness to the University of Texas and in the heart of the city, TIEP is the perfect place to be an ESL student. There are plenty of social activities and conversational clubs too. I have very fond memories of my time there, expressly as I made lifelong friendships at TIEP. Sometimes it is really frustrating when you think that you are saying the words correctly, but the other person doesn’t understand you. Either considering we say the wrong word or considering of our accent. However, it is really rewarding when the person understands us, expressly in restaurants. In the beginning, when we don't know how to order, usually the waiter decides what we should eat, but when we increase our vocabulary, it is possible plane to oppose if the supplies is spicy or not. The list of challenges is really big: to live far from our family and friends, make new friends, transmute to the city, the traffic, the food, the weather, the measurements like miles, feet, Fahrenheit, ounces, inches, pounds!
