I barely spoke any English when I started the program. But by the time I left TIEP I was well prepared to shepherd higher (Economics and MBA) and pursue my successful professional career. I'm sometimes surprised my written English is largest than some of my American friends. The teachers and the staff are very professional and caring. They truly go the uneaten mile to make sure you learn and understand. Located walking loftiness to the University of Texas and in the heart of the city, TIEP is the perfect place to be an ESL student. There are plenty of social activities and conversational clubs too. I have very fond memories of my time there, expressly as I made lifelong friendships at TIEP. Where else will you wilt friends with folks from Cyprus, Greece, Paraguay, Venezuela, Korea, Mexico, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Peru, Spain, France and many other countries?… KEEP READING TESTIMONIAL > I was a TIEP student in the Fall ’93 and Spring of ’94. Thank you for every single minute, thank you for every smile, every word, every lesson, every answer. Thank you for bringing me here, for giving me the opportunity to be better, to have increasingly options, to be exceptional.   I remember the first semester at TIEP. I started in level 120 with two teachers, Ms. Angelique and Ms. Nicole, and without 8 weeks, right in the middle of the semester they told us that we will have new teachers. When the last 8 weeks started again, my teachers were Mr. Woody and Mr. John. I learned a lot with them.   This semester I was in level 130, and I had two new teachers, Ms. Randi and Ms. Donna. It was challenging, two variegated methods and two… KEEP READING TESTIMONIAL > Thank you for every single minute, thank you for every smile, every word, every lesson, every answer. Above all, it is a unconfined honor for me to have an opportunity to say farewell in this luncheon and latter ceremony.   Exactly 4 weeks ago, we had arrived here in Austin. At that time, it seemed to me that not only I but moreover other colleagues felt a kind of nervousness considering we were outsiders in the Austin polity and didn’t know how we would be trained and educated. However, without 4 weeks of TIEP program, now, we all finger that we became insiders of Austin.   You teachers and TIEP members make us finger well-appointed and motivate us not only to delve into the ocean of English but moreover magic us to standardize into a new environment.   We really thank you for your kind and thoughtful guidance. Everything was in English, no Arabic. I was really frustrated. I said to myself, "I have to forget my language and start a new page in my life".Withoutthat, I was thinking well-nigh a school which is TIEP. I said, "Obviously, all the teachers will be very strict and unfriendly as the teachers were in my upper school". On the orientation day, Victoria gave us a speech, and she was gregarious and friendly. I told myself that I have to transpiration my idea well-nigh them, but without that I said, "No, no. Maybe this is just for one staff of them".Withoutspending 3, 4, and 5 weeks in TIEP, I realized something different. All the teachers are increasingly than your friend. Also, sometimes I finger there is no favoritism between me and my teacher. All in all, thank you my classmates and my schoolmates… KEEP READING TESTIMONIAL >Withoutspending 3, 4, and 5 weeks in TIEP. All the teachers here were really helpful during my study. They helped me get over my tasks, how to write research papers, and how to modernize my speaking for wonk purposes. My wits here was amazing. I did not only modernize my English, I made lots of friends, and most importantly I enjoyed my time here with these friends from virtually the world. It’s Lao Tzu, a very famous Chinese philosopher. This proverb is very important to me not considering I can trace it when to my own first steps, but considering I can remember the unconfined times we had while I was taking these steps. We are all here on this very special day. Every one of us had a first step towards something. As for me, I had first steps to many things that I want to accomplish, but the most important is “success.” So take a guess on MY first step, grade 1? Go when a little, kindergarten? A little farther, yes! The day I was born. Looking at those two trappy faces of your parents and listening to their soothing voices gives you the first step towards success, “consciousness.” Like all human beings, I grew up and said my… KEEP READING TESTIMONIAL > “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Who knows the name of the person who said it? Wow, this semester went so fast; I hope that we pass the classes with good grades though. So, I’m not standing here to tell stories well-nigh the obstacles that I had faced when I came here. I guess we all have gone through the same obstacles - where to live, where to eat, how to get to school, etc. I’m unquestionably standing here considering of one question that we were asked in Dr. Wagner’s class. I unquestionably suffered to wordplay that question. I plane asked some teachers and their answers varied. So, the question was: Why are you here? And what is your role in this life? I don’t want you to wordplay it now, but I just want you all to think well-nigh it and try to wordplay it by yourself. Sometimes it is really frustrating when you think that you are saying the words correctly, but the other person doesn’t understand you. Either considering we say the wrong word or considering of our accent. However, it is really rewarding when the person understands us, expressly in restaurants. In the beginning, when we don't know how to order, usually the waiter decides what we should eat, but when we increase our vocabulary, it is possible plane to oppose if the supplies is spicy or not. The list of challenges is really big: to live far from our family and friends, make new friends, transmute to the city, the traffic, the food, the weather, the measurements like miles, feet, Fahrenheit, ounces, inches, pounds! My name is Isaac from south Korea.  I have been in the US for 5 months since March this year.  I was in level 148 and 160 with my lovely teachers; Mrs. Nicole, Jill, Abby and Andrea.  I will not forget these last two semesters in TIEP.  There were a lot of happy experiences as well as improving my English.  All of us came here to the United States with a same purpose, which is Learning English.  The first thing we did when we just started to learn English, is the ABC alphabet.  Listen what I'm saying.  This is ABCs that I have learnt here from my wondrous teachers and you, my superstitious friends.  Let me start from the first letter A.
